The products developed by farmer Le Thanh Tri, 58 years old (Lam Dong province), all stem from market demand. Each of his products is improved upon before being sold to suit the terrain and actual production conditions of the users. Thanks to this expertise, his researched products have quickly become widespread in the agricultural machinery market of the Central Highlands and South Central regions, and are also exported abroad.

Surveying Needs Before Starting Product Development
Before supplying machines to partners, he always goes to observe the actual land where the buyer will use them. For foreign partners placing orders, he travels to their country, to the agricultural production areas, to observe and carefully calculate the technical production parameters to optimize the machine's operational efficiency.
It is this mindset and approach to the science and technology market that has allowed Mr. Le Thanh Nghi's research products to quickly dominate the agricultural machinery market in the Central Highlands and South Central regions. Most recently, he successfully researched and invented a macadamia nut shelling machine. The product immediately attracted and met market demand because macadamia nuts are a key crop in the Central Highlands. The macadamia shelling and drying line consists of three types of machines: a machine for shelling the outer shell (when harvested), a machine for separating the hard shell, and finally, a drying machine.

Mr. Tri's macadamia nut shelling machine is suitable for individual household production, shelling 300kg of nuts per hour. The machine's structure consists of a container for the macadamia nuts at the top. When the nuts are poured into the container for shelling, the power switch is turned on, and the motor drives the rotating drum inside.
From hired farmer to agricultural machine inventor
Sharing the reason why he started researching and inventing, Mr. Le Thanh Nghi recalled that in 2009, he moved from Ben Tre to Lam Dong to work for a company specializing in agricultural products. After two years, he decided to quit and wander around looking for new work.
“I went to many nurseries to ask for work, and I saw that people were working entirely by hand without any machinery. From that, I came up with the idea of inventing various types of mechanical machines for agriculture,” Mr. Tri recounted.
He put his thoughts into action, investing all his savings in inventing a machine for sowing seeds into styrofoam trays. With his basic knowledge of mechanics, after months of trial and error, learning from experience, Mr. Tri finally succeeded in creating his first seed sowing machine. The initial machine cost over 50 million dong, but he sold it for just over 30 million dong. This was because the first machine was made through trial and error, and many components broke down, driving up the cost. Mr. Tri's reputation for inventing the seed sowing machine quickly spread, and dozens of nurseries in Lam Dong province rushed to order his machines. He worked day and night but still couldn't keep up with demand.
The outstanding advantage of the seed sowing machine is its ability to sow all kinds of seeds, from as small as mustard seeds to as large as corn kernels. After many adjustments and improvements, Mr. Tri's invented seed sowing machine is now almost perfect. The machine operates using a vacuum suction mechanism to draw in the seeds, ensuring stability, accuracy, and preventing double seeding. The machine operates horizontally (7-hole tray width, 12-hole tray length), resulting in very high productivity. All movements are adjustable, synchronized, and independent. The seed placement funnel ensures seeds are sown precisely in the center of the holes, promoting optimal plant growth…

Automatic seed planters can sow all kinds of seeds, from small to large.
Currently, Mr. Tri's seed planter is widely sold domestically and exported to several countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia.
To date, Mr. Tri has exported nearly 40 machines of various types abroad. Foreign partners have highly appreciated the machines invented by Mr. Tri and continue to order his products for production.
The success of inventor Le Thanh Nghi, as well as the successful commercialization of his useful inventions both domestically and internationally, is truly a positive sign for the development of science and technology in general and innovation in particular. It also demonstrates the great potential and creative capacity of Vietnamese businesses, organizations, individuals, and inventors.
